Foundations of Kate's Campaign

Communication

As a communications professional with more than three decades of experience, Kate knows how vital communications strategies are to all organizations. Her expertise will support our district's efforts to effectively communicate to every student, staff member and stakeholder so we all understand our district's challenges and triumphs.

Kate also will advocate that our district shares our successes outside of our community so others know that the Grosse Pointe Public School System is an educational destination.

Education

Kate is a 1990 graduate of Grosse Pointe South, married a 1988 graduate of Grosse Pointe North, and now parents to two GPPSS alumni (both of whom are now college graduates). Through multiple generations, Kate knows first-hand the value of a diploma from our district.

Her primary responsibility as a Board of Education member will be to ensure our century-long record of providing an outstanding education to each student is on pace as we enter the next 100 years of shaping future generations of our students.

Elevation

Kate understands the art of bringing out the best of those around her and the companies she has represented. Reaching new heights of academic achievement and strengthening our extra-curricular programs as we face financial challenges will be her priority.

Our district must lead all of its efforts within the framework to position our students to aspire to earn and learn more than they could ever hope for or imagine as GPPSS students.

About Kate

Kate stands on these three primary pillars: Communication, Education, and Elevation. She will work tirelessly to develop and strengthen clear avenues of communication to support all district stakeholders—from families to students to teachers and taxpayers.

She brings decades of professional experience in commercial real estate, including her tenure as Marketing Manager for CBRE Premiere Asset Services, where she oversaw marketing and communications for an OEM’s Global Headquarters.

Kate will apply her understanding of strategic planning and fiscal responsibility to work towards a balanced budget and a more measurable strategic plan for the GPPSS.

Kate will seek out innovative efforts to support excellence in education at all levels throughout GPPSS. Kate aims to be a leader in elevating academic achievement and extracurricular opportunities for students and staff district-wide.
